kimbap
I'm not going to lie, I made pretty friggin awesome kimbap. I'm as white a Korean as a Korean can be. Thank my Croatian/Italian/Irish/German parents for adopting me! What what! I'm basically the best mix in the world. College was an eye opening experience, that's for sure. You know one Korean, you know them all. Orientation, I befriended a Cali girl (Korean of course), and once school rolled my "friends" were probably 90% Korean. The "Korean connection" people like to call it. I try to avoid it like the plague. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Korean people. I just don't like being associated with one race and therefore have doors (of friendship with non-Koreans) closed on me. No gracias.
What I do love about Korean culture is its food. Holy crap, I love it! I could eat Korean food everyday of the week. The spicier and more random the better! One simple staple is kimbap -- a Korean sushi of sorts.
I stuff mine with egg, carrots, spinach, pickled daikon, and bulgogi or spicy tuna fish. The tuna's pretty simple... I just mix canned tuna with mayo, gochujang, and cayenne pepper. The bulgogi is a little more time consuming, but it's definitely worth the effort. So so yummy!
