I scream, you scream! We all scream for ice cream!
I've been wanting to make homemade ice cream for ages. It seems like my best time would have been 3 years ago when my good friend Ray bought my twin sister a Cuisinart ice cream maker for Christmas. Well, 3 years later, Mike Mulligan is the one who's inspired me to break open the seal on that bad boy.
This morning, I woke up early just to throw my custard into the ice cream maker. I wanted to last night, but I had no idea you needed to freeze the barrel in the ice cream maker. No idea! That was time perfectly wasted. :sigh: Oh well.
Ah yes, whipping out the Chambord liqueur for that little extra somethin' somethin'.
Ah!!!! Custard poured in: check. Machine on: check. Uhhh... now what?
20 minutes of the waiting game was almost too much for me. And please let me tell you, that Cuisinart is crazy! I watched that thing for everyone of those 20 minutes. My custard got so much bigger!!! It almost started coming out of the barrel! Eeeeesh! Then, the ice cream had to go back in the freezer to harden. That's where it is now. I'm watching an Oprah DVD just waaaaaiting.
